"Memory Turf," Japan's first shape-memory artificial turf.

At the time of Memory Turf's development, artificial turf was gaining popularity in sports fields due to its ease of maintenance, but it had many problems, such as low durability, quickly falling apart and shedding, and an artificial, vinyl-like appearance that felt unnatural.
With the desire to "create an environment where people can easily enjoy sports at home," we aimed to create artificial turf that would look natural even when laid in a garden, and that would "look close to natural grass and have a natural finish," and "have high durability to maintain a beautiful landscape for a long time." We conducted extensive research on materials, the shape of the grass fibers, and processing methods.
As a result, Memory Turf was born, an artificial turf that closely resembles natural grass in appearance, from the feel underfoot to the natural color.

Visual realism

Conventional artificial turf had problems such as unnatural appearance due to the shape and material of the grass fibers, and its tendency to flatten, which compromised both its look and texture.
Memory Turf, which has been improved based on many years of experience, reproduces the realism of natural grass no matter how close you get to it.

V-shaped grass filaments similar to natural grass

Closely resemble those of natural grass . The shape of the grass fibers is a V-shape with a core, making it look more realistic whether viewed from a distance or up close.

By adding a core to the V-shaped straight yarn, its ability to stand upright is improved. It quickly returns to its original shape even if stepped on.

Other artificial turf

When it bends, it gets a crease that doesn't return to its original shape. As a result, it gets crushed very easily.

Test Method

Test Method: A 60kg load was applied for 24 hours at room temperature.
Changes over time were observed to estimate the recovery rate.
Test results: The memory turf also showed signs of collapse immediately after the load was removed.
However, after 24 hours, no change was observed compared to before the test.

Durability

Addressing the microplastic problem.
Because artificial turf is made of plastic, it deteriorates over time depending on the frequency of use and the amount of sunlight, which can lead to wear and tear and fading due to ultraviolet rays. In recent years, the problem of plastic waste not decomposing and flowing into the ocean as fine fragments, affecting ecosystems, has also attracted attention. However,
Memory Turf has a pull-out strength of 30N or more, which is the standard for artificial turf used in sports, and is an artificial turf with excellent abrasion resistance. In environments where the load is not as intense as in sports competitions, it exhibits even greater durability as fewer fine fragments are generated. Wear-resistant

By incorporating materials found in high-performance artificial turf into the grass fibers and increasing the thickness of the fibers, abrasion resistance has been improved. It has cleared FIFA certification standards in abrasion resistance tests. (FIFA: International Federation of Association Football)

Test Method: Using a Lisport abrasion tester, we reproduce the surface friction that occurs during normal use on artificial turf to estimate its durability against friction. One back-and-forth movement is counted as one rotation, and the impact on the artificial turf is observed after a total of 55,000 rotations.

Test results: After 3,000 hours of irradiation, no significant changes were observed in appearance, hue, or physical properties.

Suppresses deterioration over time

Plastics undergo chemical reactions when exposed to ultraviolet light, leading to discoloration and deterioration. However, Memory Turf contains antioxidants, which suppress deterioration over time.

Outdoor exposure test

Test Method: The device will be placed on a concrete surface exposed to direct sunlight for testing.
Test results: Even after 10 years, there was minimal fading and no mold growth.

Improved suture strength and UV resistance

By using an improved urethane coating on the back surface, the grass fibers are less likely to come loose, and durability against deterioration from ultraviolet rays has been enhanced.
In addition, it does not harden easily even at low temperatures, making installation easier.

Other artificial turf

Many types of artificial turf are latex-coated, which makes them susceptible to deterioration from ultraviolet light.
Additionally, their flexibility decreases in low temperatures, making cutting difficult.
