Artificial turf that's gentle on both people and pets.
Artificial turf is used in a variety of places, not only in home gardens but also in facility plazas, kindergartens, and daycare centers.
In recent years, with more and more households living with pets, we have been hearing requests such as "I want to play with my pet in my yard" and "I want to let my pet run around freely in a dog run."
Based on these requests, we aimed to create artificial turf that is gentle on both people and pets, and that is "Memory Turf AG20."
While it is artificial turf for landscaping purposes, it has a feel that is distinctly different from conventional artificial turf, making it an all-around product that can be used in a variety of settings such as "general homes," "commercial facilities," "dog runs," and "educational settings."
Comparison of garden materials
When choosing a dog run, you need to consider various factors, such as whether it has cushioning to reduce strain on the legs and joints, whether it minimizes the risk of injury, whether it's safe if ingested, and whether it looks good.
Three common garden materials used to create a safe environment for pets to play in are natural grass, wood chips, and artificial turf.
Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, so please consider these before choosing the garden material that suits your needs.

Reasons to recommend artificial turf
While artificial turf has a higher initial cost compared to other garden materials, it requires almost no maintenance, resulting in no ongoing costs.
Natural grass and wood chips require regular maintenance, incurring ongoing costs, and ultimately becoming more expensive than artificial turf after a few years.
Artificial turf requires almost no maintenance, stays looking nice, and can even help prevent injuries to pets.
However, not all artificial turf is created equal. Artificial turf made of straight fibers or with low fiber density and poor cushioning can actually make pets more prone to slipping and potentially causing injuries.
Choosing highly cushioned artificial turf can help prevent injuries to your pet.
Features of Memory Turf AG20
"Memory Turf AG20" offers high cushioning and, thanks to the use of curled yarn, has an even more slip-resistant structure. Curled yarn is characterized by its superior grip compared to the "straight yarn + crimped yarn" structure found in conventional artificial turf.
Furthermore, to ensure that there is no harm even if your pet accidentally ingests it, we conduct an "8-type heavy metal test" to prove that it does not contain harmful heavy metals. In addition, we have incorporated other features to ensure your pet's safety, such as static electricity suppression and antibacterial and antifungal properties.
With its superior cushioning and grip, it reduces strain on your pet's legs and hips, preventing injuries. This helps create an environment where your pet can play safely and to their heart's content.
A different feel underfoot compared to conventional artificial turf.
By using curled yarn, we have recreated the texture of well-maintained natural grass on a golf course. With a feel distinctly different from conventional artificial turf, this product boasts high quality and appearance, making it suitable for use in dog runs, private homes, and commercial facilities.
Safe for dog sports
"Memory Turf AG20" is a product developed in collaboration with Toshiyuki Oba, an international referee for agility competitions. Aiming to create artificial turf that is gentle not only on people but also on dogs, we have created artificial turf that meets the quality requirements for agility and is of the same quality as agility fields used in world championships.
Agility Competition International Referee Toshiyuki Oba
He was selected as the first Japanese international judge for agility competitions. He judges approximately 10 contests a year and continues to compete as an active handler.
Non-slip and reduces strain on the legs and lower back
By focusing on density and creating a textured surface, grip is enhanced, reducing the risk of injury.
Furthermore, the use of highly cushioned curled yarn provides elasticity, reducing strain on joints and the lower back.
Suppresses static electricity
By incorporating anti-static fibers, static electricity generation is suppressed, reducing stress.
While conventional artificial turf has a static electricity performance rating of Grade III, Memory Turf AG20 has a static electricity performance rating of Grade II, indicating relatively high anti-static performance. (See diagram below. A higher static electricity performance rating (U value) indicates higher anti-static performance.)
U value
grade
Meaning of evaluation
5.2 or higher
Ⅰ
It has extremely high antistatic properties.
3.2 or higher and less than 5.2
Ⅱ
It has relatively high antistatic properties.
1.2 or more and less than 3.2
Ⅲ
Antistatic properties.
Less than 1.2
Ⅳ
It cannot be said to have antistatic properties.
Wear-resistant
By increasing the thickness of the grass fibers, we have improved abrasion resistance. In abrasion resistance tests, which measure the strength of wear, the product meets FIFA certification standards. (*FIFA: International Federation of Association Football)
Antibacterial and mildew-proof for peace of mind
By incorporating silver ions, the growth of bacteria and mold is suppressed, which in turn helps to reduce the generation of unpleasant odors.
Flame-retardant
It is certified as a fire-retardant product by the Japan Fire Retardant Association, as it is a material that will not spread fire in the event of a fire.
Easy to maintain
When cleaning up fallen leaves and other debris, the curled threads prevent tangling, making it easy to remove them with a bamboo broom or similar tool.
